New Resources

Information and reliable, cost-effective services are always going to be important issues, no matter what market segment you are in. To that end, I've added some links. One is a link to another page of links I'm developing based on the information I run across in my adventures at TVCC. Mostly generic business info. Solid stuff.

The other new link is author specific. A tip from another colleague has led me to EditMinion, which I just tried out. It's good. Real good. I ran the first few chapters of my newest book through it, fixed a few potential issues before anyone else saw them. Customize-able settings include:

Adverbinator
Weak Words
Said
Passive Voice
Prepositions
Homonyms
Cliché
Shakespeare
Greek
Latin
Germanic
Dialog
Ambrose

The different filters are color coded, and have suggestions/explanations as you hover over each highlighted issue. Not only will you be able to spot possible weaknesses in your manuscript, but the tips will gradually filter into your brain and thus your writing. The service is free, but still in beta. It cannot handle extremely large sections of text. A chapter at a time seems to work fine.

Enjoy!
